INTEGRATED GREEN DESIGN
Pak Lou Mi has been invested in green building since his youth. Green sustainable design first caught his heart in primary school. It was the middle of the oil crisis, he absorbed all he could about solar energy and passive solar design. Then, early in his professional career, his first non-residential building that he acted not only as project manager, project architect and concept designer was a 98000-sf elementary school in the mainline area of Philadelphia. It was the first school in Pennsylvania to receive the state's Governor's Citation for Design Excellence and Green Building. The building design was pre-LEED(tm) but it uses between 20-30 % of the energy than a sister school 5 miles away of the same size and program. This economy was achieved without increasing the project budget more than 5%. All his subsequent designs incorporate an appropriate level of sustainable building practice and energy conservation.
